Alaska, it’s one of the most demanding and risky places to fly into and out of. That’s why pilots that fly for us are the best there is in the virtual world. Most of our flight crews have full time positions elsewhere with other VAs. They are not expected to fly all the time with us. They are hand-picked and put through rigorous training before they touch the controls. These pilots are an elite group of men and women who pride themselves on getting the cargo delivered to the intended destination on schedule if weather permits.

As a crew member, you will need the know how to successfully fly and operate a 1982 era jet with non-class and primitive flight controls. Airmanship is a must! There is no computer telling you when to descend, that’s done in your head. Approaches are completed hand flown most of the time in marginal weather with terrain surrounding you. Unforgiving is an understatement…

Now is the time to stop reading and go along your normal day, if you keep reading this it must mean that this is a challenge you may be willing to except.

This is no ordinary cargo virtual airline. I am going to tell you some things of what we are not:

• New to Vatsim/ virtual airline flying

• New to Primitive navigation and flying techniques

• Big, so pilots are not just numbers here  

• New to the 737

In other words the training is in-depth and if you can graduate from that consider yourself unlucky because you have just entered a really fun, exciting, and challenging adventure ahead.

 

Let’s take a look at requirements:

• 500 hours verified Vatsim

• 150 hours in the 737 type

• Captain sim 737-200F or Milviz 737-200QC or equivalent

• Knowledge of PFPX and or SimBrief dispatch operations

• Knowledge of 737 systems and operations

• Copy of Airhauler-2
